My experience with the Power Pause
It is the best 3 minutes I can ever make of and the best part is, I am doing this as a service to myself, if nothing else (or no one else does). And all it takes is 3 minutes.
When I am through, I feel much calmer. That in itself, is pretty much worth it.
However, that is not all - things do turn out how I wanted, if not better, in the end. But do not be mistaken that I 'force' my way. That would have resulted in a lot of resistance and I would be alone.
On the contrary, the 3 minutes put me into the flow again. (I was challenged only because I was not in alignment, now I realign.) If I was heading the wrong way (and getting a lot of things I did not want on the way), the 3 minutes gave me the opportunity to change direction.
P.s: Each challenge or resistance is after all, a reminder to myself and is therefore an opportunity. I can realign at any point but the sooner I take heed and take action, the sooner my suffering ends and the sooner I reach my goals.

Why do I need to take a Power Pause?
Firstly, empower yourself; acknowledge that it is your challenge(s) and it is your feeling(s) (that you are feeling). You own it (because you created it), not vice versa, and you are certainly not your feelings nor challenges!
You have created such challenge(s) for the purpose of advancing yourself.
Now how much you can advance, depends on your ability to respond to your challenge.
(At this point, would you cry, "unfair"? Wouldn't that be like walking backwards?)
When you take a Power Pause, you are aiding yourself. When you do that, others will naturally gravitate towards you to aid you some more.
Finally, no matter where you are, be grateful for the opportunity to experience the challenge. You may not know why or how it will unfold, but once you are past it, you will know why, if you wish to know.

P.s : When you feel the pain, you may even plead, there is no doubt that you are sincere. Even then, know that it is for the betterment of yourself even if you cannot understand why.
How can you not be touched if all this (the good things that would otherwise not be made known to you, the pain and all) is orchestrated for the sake of nothing and no one else but you and you alone? You are that important.
Let your tears signify your gratitude to your self within you. You are tearful for you are so touched, how can the self within you not be?

How can I take a Power Pause?
So it is with the Power Pause. To be able to understand it, put the formula into practice. It is not called the Power Pause for nothing.
Take a break, but not another one of those breaks that makes you feel even more tired than before you took it. That is how you replenish your energy; that is why it is a Power Pause. And all it takes is 3 minutes of your time.
Why do I need to take a Power Pause?
P.s : Do not rush it or think it to be a chore, you are doing this for no one but yourself. Naturally, if you are desperate enough, this is not an issue.

How can power pause help me?
The PowerPause is a 3-minute, 3-step formula for success
This is really how you can get 'there' from 'here'. Remember that the thinking that got you here can't get you there. This is especially true if you find yourself stuck in a pattern and then often, despite your efforts, you still find yourself within the familiar pattern, (even if there is a little improvement).
Over twenty-five years in the making
True 'thinking out of the box' is really a form of leveraging.
There is no competition
If you still find yourself in competition with someone else, rest assured that that person is you (or your ego).

I can't help feeling bad
Don't do something that makes you feel bad but, if bad feelings surface nonetheless, you are already containing it and it is now replaying in order for you to have a chance to release it. In other words, an opportunity to heal that part of you that has been hurt in the past.
This is good news because once this negativity is released, you are that much lighter and one step nearer to achieving your wishes.
The easiest way to do this is to do it with love. There is no competition and therefore, it is irrelevant to judge. There is only you and the outcome is feedback for you. This feedback is valuable for your next steps. Take a power pause and feel yourself empowered.

Honor your feelings
Your feelings really belong to the larger part of yourself (or your unconscious self). This expansive self knows things that your conscious self does not, and it communicates with you in the form of feelings.
Your conscious self ought to act on those messages (instead of feeding the unconscious one with worry so that it feels worse). Cooperate in the intended manner if you really want to resolve your challenge.
The easiest way to do this is to take a power pause. Now you are engaging your larger self, what fun and what a great idea!

Clarify your feelings
If your feelings overwhelm you, you should certainly acknowledge them. They are bubbling up from your subconscious self and they are a message to you. Your feelings are your natural guide. So, allow yourself to be divinely guided.
You do already have the answer, your feelings accentuate this fact for you. What kind of answer? Depends on what kind of feeling you are feeling.
See? Even if you thought you had to do it alone, you would not be. Remember though that you are still the first cause.

How can I feel as if there is nothing the matter?
You are right, you cannot feel as if nothing is the matter because if you do, you are avoiding your challenge.
On the other hand, if you can feel that nothing is the matter long enough for an answer to pop up for you to act on thereafter, you are not avoiding your challenge. And so that is why you can disconnect, from your 'trouble'.
One way to aid you in disconnecting is to 'put yourself in a future place'. You (your future self) may look back to your current point in time. Does this open up a new perspective?
Would you go, "you should have..." or "you could have..."

Face your challenge
Face it yes, but not let it get ahead of you. Remember that you are the one who made your choice, the test did not choose you (does that sound funny?). Then why do you act like it is the first cause, and not you? (You are the first cause in your world.)
Neither avoid, resist nor worry it.
If this brings you to not know what to do, take a pause, (take a deep breath if it helps) ask yourself what to do and allow the answer to come.
Whether it is a test that requires an urgent response from you or not, you do always know what to do. If you feel otherwise, could you be avoiding the test (or its best solution as you know it)?

Take a vacation
And I mean it, not just a pause, but a vacation, for as long as you can.
It has to be a place that feels different from the present place but it does not have to be exotic or be at a considerable monetary expense at all. It feels like a different world to you because it inherits a different kind of energy.
And you will be influenced by your surroundings. During this time, you can take stock and perhaps change course or you may come up with ideas to manage your affairs when you return.
As for how long, that depends on how long you have been stressed out (and therefore, how off course you are). For example, if you have been struggling for decades, a year or so of vacation may be ideal.
Or, the less focussed you are, the more time you need to find yourself.

How do you deal with your challenges?
Do it this way - face it, but not alone.
Remember that (however hard it is), this is a test that you have chosen earlier to improve an aspect of yourself (which will in turn improve your whole self). What matters is the outcome (of the test). How it can be influenced lies in the way you respond - that is how you make a difference.
The above link opens up another post, in case you have not been reading this blog chronologically. If you have, you will understand what I mean by facing the challenge, but not alone.
So does John, author of the Power Pause. How does John deal with his challenges?

So how can my problems be solved?
You have felt what it was like to have those problems. You have also felt what it was like to not have those problems. Did you notice the difference?
By shifting your feelings, you shift your point of attraction.
You then conclude with gratitude.
My dear readers, you certainly initiate the solving of your problems but you do not have to do it alone. The universe is more than what you can see and neither are your choices limited by what you can see. Help yourself to solve your problem(s) quicker and enjoy life sooner.

The power of gratitude
Now all you have to do is to seal the deal with gratitude.
Gratitude is a feeling of thankfulness, not unlike sincerity and surrender. The point is, you have to feel it to know it. It does not matter whether you verbalise it or put it into writing, just feel it.
Let it fill you so much that tears well up in your eyes. At this point, there is no question in your sincerity and surrender. Even your enemies will love you.
Go Gratitude. It is a great attitude.

How do you respond?
The trick to survive this chaos lies in the way you respond. And that is just what responsibility means.
It does not matter that you do not remember having chosen this challenge for yourself. It is now here and it is here for a purpose - to help you grow. No point in fighting against it, instead, use your energy to respond to it.
Before you feel like a knight facing your enemies, about to go into a battle, do this:
How would I feel if that problem no longer exists?
(Don't want to read? Listen instead.)

I don't feel good
And that is a good thing. It means that you can choose how you feel and not the other way round since your feelings do not own you - you own your feelings!
Similarly, your problems do not own you - you own your problems!
So how do you choose the way you feel? By not having the problems in the first place? But even those were chosen by you.
You know, the tiny you (your conscious self) may view this or that as a problem, but not your larger self. You have chosen this in order to evolve, to move a little beyond your comfort zone so that you can have even more than what you already have.
(Don't want to read? Listen instead.)

But I can't, I've got all these problems.
(Did you know that some people are so good at feeling bad that they can do so with no apparent problem? This is normally known as depression.)
Still not fully convinced that feelings play a role? Try this:
Use a note pad or your computer to jot down three things:
1) The most serious problem you have right now, whether it's money, health or relationships or a combination of any two or all.
2) Then write one word to describe how you feel when you think of the problem. It could be any word such as anxious, miserable, fearful, helpless, hopeless, etc.
3) Now write one more word to describe how you'd feel if that problem no longer exists. You can use words like happy, peaceful, relaxed or any word of your choosing.
